Your grips are one of the most important pieces of equipment in your bag, and often one of the most neglected.
They may seem insignificant, but slick grips can lead to swing flaws. Teaching Professional Walter Kim sees it all the time.
“The club will shift during the swing, which forces people to make adjustments while the club is in motion,” he said. “With new grips, you don’t need to give it a death grip, which saps power. Plus, you can get the feel of new clubs for a fraction of the price.”
If you play once a week, Kim says, you should change your grips once a year, and if you’re seeing shiny patches or cracks, you need to get them replaced ASAP.
We now offer a complete selection of Golf Pride and Super Stroke grips, as well as other brands, at The Bridge Golf Learning Center. Just drop off your clubs and one of our PGA professionals will have your set ready to go the next day, or two days for special orders.
