Zion Smith Named Student-Athlete for January

I am happy to announce that Zion Smith is our Student-Athlete of the Month. He also managed to be deemed the Zestiest participant for the week of 1/25-1/30. The fact that he was able to achieve both goals says a lot about his personality and resilience. Here are a few thoughts about Zion from the staff: – Reggie Mays Jr., Program Coordinator

Zion has shown tremendous poise and willingness to improve his game and etiquette in the game of golf. Listening to and utilizing the instructions, he has shown the greatest improvement over a short period of time. His failures and mistakes have made him wiser and more patient with understanding the game. We are happy that Zion is our first Student of the Month, and we hope to see others strive to be the best they can be. – Brian Hwang (Golf Instructor)

Over the past month, Zion has shown great enthusiasm and effort in STEM education. He actively participates in all lessons, and he is always very eager to answer questions and focused on completing each task. He has also shown great qualities as a team player and leader. When working in groups, he makes sure everyone is included and is always very positive. – Veeshan Narinesingh (STEM Instructor)

Zion has shown an outstanding amount of dedication in learning STEM. Every day of class, Zion is enthusiastic about what we are learning; he is excited to share his knowledge with his classmates as well as learn from his classmates and teachers. He asks questions and listens to what everyone has to say. He has shown exceptional teamwork skills as he is always attentive to the other students in his group and fosters discussion about the activity at hand. Zion’s efforts in STEM class are demonstrated by everything he has learned this past month! – Tiffani Kolozian (STEM Instructor)
