On Wednesday night at The Bridge Golf Learning Center, the after school students in our mentorship program were matched with their mentors for the school year.
Blackbird, a New York startup that supplies artificial intelligence to institutional investors, is partnering with our mentorship program for their Bigger Pie initiative. Through Bigger Pie, our students will earn microgrants (small cash payments) for achieving their personal goals.
In the coming weeks, students will work with their mentors to develop meaningful goals that are SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-focused, and Time-based. Students will identify three goals, one academic, one career, and one personal. These goals will be evaluated over a scholastic quarter, and students will earn a $60 microgrant for each goal they achieve during that time.
Our students’ families were also on hand to meet the mentors and learn more about the program on Wednesday night.
