As our after-school program starts up again with the new school year, we are adding philanthropy education and service learning to our programming.
Giving and service are learned behaviors, and we want our young men to take responsibility for making the world a better place. Through a philanthropy-education and service-learning curriculum, we will equip our young men with the skills and strategies to react to negative situations with positive actions.
We will be working closely with Golf Fore Africa, an organization that inspires the golf community to support projects that address poverty in Africa, with a focus on brining clean drinking water to those who don’t have it. Golf Fore Africa was founded by Betsy King, a member of the LPGA Hall of Fame and the World Golf Hall of Fame.
This fall, our young men will begin working on a fundraising and awareness campaign to build wells in Zambia. This sort of meaningful action will show them the power they have to make a positive impact on the world.
