Our Student-Athlete for the month of March is Jaden Jackson. Here’s what our instructors had to say about his performance last month:
Jaden has recently become one of the outstanding leaders in our program. It is apparent to his peers, as well as to the staff, that he is more focused and mature than when he joined the program. Previously, Jaden’s demeanor and attitude hindered him from achieving goals. After showing glimpses of his potential, this month he put in the extra effort to maintain consistency. Now Jaden makes sure that he is present and ready to be an active participant in all of our activities. His recent maturation has enabled him to reach new levels, and as long as he remains vigilant about becoming a positive leader, he will continue to flourish. – Reggie Mays Jr., program coordinator
Jaden has greatly improved his attitude and willingness to learn since I came on board. As a basketball lover, his passion for golf wasn’t there in the beginning. After we showed great support for him as a lefty, and pushed him to use his athletic skills from basketball, we have seen tremendous growth. His competitive attitude in skills competitions and his demeanor around his peers show that he can be a leader. His ability to win this award also shows the great strides our Foundation has made in shaping these young men over the past seven months. We are doing good work in Harlem! – Brian Hwang, teaching professional
Jaden showed great focus and determination in STEM lab this month. He came to STEM excited to learn, and his excitement was contagious. In our competitive friction review game, Jaden proved just how much he learned this past month and answered some of the most challenging questions of the game! At the same time, he continued to be a supportive and enthusiastic teammate. – Tiffani Kolozian, STEM co-teacher
