As a preview to our upcoming film series, seventh grader Yohance Whyte demonstrates conservation of energy with two bouncing balls in this digital simulation. The ball on the left was programmed to have no frictional losses and perfectly elastic collisions with the ground. The ball on the right was programmed to bounce according to the normal laws of physics, dissipating energy and eventually coming to a stop. Yohance programmed the animation using the 3D modeling software Blender, and edited the video using Filmora.
